DeckSeal is Now a Registered NDIS Provider: What Does This Mean and What are the Benefits?

Sep 24, 2024 | All

The DeckSeal team is proud to announce that DeckSeal is now a registered NDIS provider. This month, we explore what this means for our customers, as well as the potential benefits for you. From deck restoration to deck oiling and staining, we remain committed to providing the same high quality services and friendly customer service as always, with added peace of mind for all of our valued customers.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a vitally important component of our society that “provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.” This includes connecting those with disability to services in the community such as doctors, support groups, and community groups. Currently, the NDIS supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and support that they need.

What Does it Mean to Be a Registered NDIS Provider?

You might have some questions about what NDIS registered providers are, or what this means for you as a customer, and we are here to answer them.

Put simply, registered NDIS providers are people, businesses, or organisations that provide NDIS funded supports and services to participants. There are two types of providers: registered and unregistered, and DeckSeal falls into the first category. As a registered provider, we are regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, which is an independent agency established to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.

On the other hand, unregistered providers are not regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, which means that they can choose to charge any price, above or below the NDIS price limits. It is important to note though, that both registered and unregistered NDIS providers must adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct, which is designed to safeguard the health, safety, dignity, and privacy of NDIS participants at all times.

Are There Benefits to Choosing a Registered NDIS Provider?

There are several benefits for NDIS participants that come from choosing a registered NDIS provider:

1: Quality Assurance

As we have mentioned, NDIS registered providers must meet strict governmental requirements, like the NDIS practice standards and Code of Conduct. This ensures that the supports or services provided are of a high quality, are ethical, and reliable.

2: Compliance with NDIS funding

NDIS providers can directly bill the NDIS, which ensures that NDIS participants do not need to pay upfront for the services that are covered by their plans. This is particularly beneficial for those participants with plan-managed funding, as it streamlines the payment process.

3: Professional Standards

Registered NDIS providers are subject to regular audits and assessments which aim to ensure that they continue to meet the professional standards required by the NDIS. This can give participants added peace of mind about the safety and the integrity of the services they receive.

4: Additional Safeguards for Participants

Due to the fact that NDIS registered providers are regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, they are held accountable for any complaints or issues. This regulatory oversight helps to ensure that NDIS participants are protected and that any issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

What Services Can DeckSeal Provide as a Registered NDIS Provider?

If you are a regular customer of DeckSeal, you may already be aware of the services that we provide. From deck staining and oiling to deck restorations and maintenance, we are known for our extensive range of services and our friendly customer service.

However, you might be wondering what services we provide as a registered NDIS provider.

Deck Restoration: Deck restoration services are a comprehensive way to restore old and tired decks, which often take place in a number of steps. Beginning with an inspection, deck preparation and deck sanding then follows, and the process is finished off with deck washing and oiling, staining, or painting. This process is a meticulous one, which can help to not only bring your deck back to life aesthetically but also help to ensure its safety and yours.

Paving and Concrete Cleaning: At DeckSeal, we don’t just do decks! We are proud to be able to offer cleaning and maintenance services for concrete and paving too. This can include handling: dust and general grime, moss and other natural build-up, oil and grease that can damage the surface and cause slip hazards, and tricky to remove stains and marks.

If you are an NDIS participant and are interested in the services that we can provide, get in touch with DeckSeal. We are proud to be the only deck restoration and preservation specialist registered as an NDIS provider and are here to help with your deck, paving and concrete needs.
